About Us
The SMU Career Champions (CC) are trained student career advisors who work hand-in-hand with SMU Dato' Kho Hui Meng Career Centre (DKHMCC) to support the career development of the SMU student community. We serve as a bridge between students and the corporate world.
We offer weekly consultations conducted twice a week, where you can receive advice on improving your resumes or participate in mock interview sessions to boost your confidence and readiness.
Beyond consultations, we organise networking events across various industries for students to gain connections and expand professional opportunities to build your career path.
As Career Champions, we’re here to help you:
- Discover and refine your career interests
- Strengthen your resume and job application skills
- Provide opportunities for you to network and gain exposure with professionals

Our executives are trained by SMU Dato' Kho Hui Meng Career Centre to review students’ resumes and conduct mock interviews. We find that once you’re equipped with these skills, you gain the ability to critique and perfect your own resume and interview performance as well. CC provides members with various opportunities to gain valuable experience in event planning, project coordination as well as leadership opportunities to hone their skills.
Yes, you can! We hold our recruitment annually, and we are looking for students with internship experience who wish to give back to the SMU community. Even if you are a Year 1 student without internship experience, you can still apply if you want to be part of what CC does: being the bridge between the SMU student body and the corporate world.
Members are required to attend our bi-weekly meetings on Thursday from 7.00pm - 9.00pm and help with your departmental activities and events, meeting departmental KPI. You will be expected to take up a leadership role in the Organising Committee for at least one of our flagship events.
