SMU FinLIT Programme
ABOUT US
The SMU Financial Literacy, Inclusion & Technology Club (SMU FinLIT) program is a society with a public-spirited mission. It was founded in 2014 as the Citi Foundation-SMU Financial Literacy for Young Adults Club by Citi Singapore and Singapore Management University (SMU), with the support of the Citi Foundation. Our goal is to promote financial literacy and inclusion, helping our community become more aware of financial matters and technology to make well-informed economic decisions regarding saving, investing, borrowing, and more.
Our flagship initiatives include the Train-The-Trainers (TTT) programme & Peer-to-Peer (P2P) workshops - aim to equip students with crucial financial literacy knowledge and classroom management skills. Throughout the programme, students from different Institutes of Higher Learning are taught by domain experts from the SMU faculty, industry practitioners, and government agencies. Upon completing their training, these students are awarded a Certificate of Completion. They would form our trainer representatives to support outreach events to share the financial knowledge and skills they have learnt to their fellow peers in our Peer-to-Peer workshop series.
