ABOUT US
Singapore Management University Students' Association (SMUSA) is a student-run organisation founded in 2000, the highest office of student leadership in SMU. As a student government body, we act as the bridge between students and the School Offices by representing the voices of all SMU undergraduates.
SMUSA, with all SMU full-time matriculated undergraduates as our members, is headed by the Council, its policy-making arm that provides strategic direction to the SMUSA Executive Committee (ExCo). The SMUSA Council, made up of the SMUSA ExCo and the Presidents of the various Constituent Bodies (CBds), focuses on implementing consistent processes across the various CBds. The SMUSA ExCo, on the other hand, promotes a vibrant student life in SMU by organising events and providing student-centered services all year round. You can expect to learn technical skills, ranging from policy-making to business development, event planning, marketing, operation management and more!
You can also further develop soft skills such as decision-making, stakeholder management, critical-thinking and communication skills.
We also believe in forging strong professional bonds and lasting friendships in SMUSA.

SMUSA Annual General Meeting (AGM)
SMUSA hosts our AGM in January each year to celebrate our achievements, introduce the incoming SMUSA ExCo and share our plans for the new year. -
SMU Freshman Orientation (FO)
SMUSA, along with the FO Organising Committee, plans and organises the largest annual freshmen orientation that spans across all schools in SMU, including the one you just attended! -
SMU Vivace
SMUSA, along with the Vivace Organising Committee, plans and organises the annual CCA fair in SMU, providing SMUSA members with the opportunity to discover the multitude of CCAs SMU has to offer. -
SMUSAfiesta
SMUSAfiesta (previously known as Bi-Annual) is one of SMUSA's signature events that takes place once per semester. It aims to provide all SMUSA members with the opportunity to have a well-deserved bonding time with your friends and have a fun time to destress before diving into studying for finals. -
SMUSA Welfare Drives
SMUSA Welfare Drives are held once per semester, which aims to cheer all SMUSA members on, boosting your morale, motivating and supporting you to push through the exam and project weeks.

HOW TO JOIN THE CLUB?
If you wish to join the ExCo, you will be required to go through SMUSA’s general and internal elections. Keep a lookout for our email on election nominations opening in term 1.
You may also join as a SMUSA Deputy by participating in the recruitment program, which will take place at the end of the year. Selected individuals will go through an interview process. Successful applicants will join us onboard to give back to the SMU community, together with the SMUSA ExCo.

FAQ
SMUSA upholds and protects students’ rights, where our aim is to champion the needs and interests of the student body. Our key functions are to serve as a voice for our student body and govern the CBds as well as the clubs and societies in SMU.

SMUSA recruits Organising Committees for our summer events (i.e. FO and Vivace) during mid-January. Do look out for sign-up opportunities via our email and Instagram!
SMUSA does more than plan for events! Besides front-facing events, we have a multitude of supporting arms, such as managing SMUSA’s finances and budgeting in our Finance department, or SMUSA’s assets and the loaning system in our Operations department. The SMUSA ExCo and Deputies will commence their term of office from January to December 31st. It will be a year-long commitment.
