The life-time membership fee is $15, which gives you priority access to all our events, workshops and networking sessions throughout the year! You’ll also receive exclusive updates via our mailing list and Telegram channel and be eligible to take on subcommittee roles!
SMU FinTech’s Annual Flagship Training Program offers subcommittee members a hands-on guided learning experience through two tracks – Research and Developer! Each track accepts 20 members and explores key FinTech domains: Research Track: Payments & Settlements, Open Banking, WealthTech, and Web 3.0 & DeFi | Developer Track: Web Development in Payments, Open Banking & Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, and Blockchain dApps.
Members will participate in weekly training sessions led by our R&D Directors, and apply their skills in internal case competitions/hackathons designed to simulate real-world FinTech challenges.
- Students assigned a topic (based on track)
- Complete a slide deck or mini project within 5 days
- Top submissions shortlisted by EXCO
- Shortlisted candidates invited for physical interview
Nope — not at all! Whether you're joining as a general member or subcommittee member, no finance or coding background is required. Our Flagship Training Program is beginner-friendly too!
General members enjoy priority access to all our events, workshops, and networking sessions throughout the year. You'll also receive exclusive updates via our mailing list and Telegram channel.
Subcommittee members go one step further — they join our Flagship Training Program, attend weekly training sessions, take part in internal case competitions and hackathons!
Achievements
- Singapore Blockchain Innovation Challenge 2021
SMU FinTech Team won 3rd place by building a simple NFT marketplace for rental and listing of bicycles, based on the hackathon's theme of cross-chain interoperability with a strong focus on user experience.
