The Singapore Management University Student Managed Investment Fund (SMU-SMIF) is SMU’s long-only public equity fund with a broad investment mandate covering various sectors. The fund was founded by Mr See Yong Sheng, Mr Ye Junjie Jacky and Mr Poh Wei Jin Gerald in Aug 2005. The idea for the fund came from the success of similar initiatives in universities overseas. Believing that no other university in Asia had a similar set-up, the three founders decided to blaze the trail and started SMU-SMIF.  

In October 2025, SMU-SMIF held its first Investment Committee meeting, formally becoming Singapore's first and Asia's largest live undergraduate student managed investment fund, with over SGD 200,000 in AUM.
