SMU Women’s Connection strives to bring like-minded, aspiring individuals together for networking and enriching social interactions, to positively impact the community and spread awareness regarding female empowerment.
We embrace an intersectional approach — recognising that our identities and lived experiences are shaped by interconnected realities of race, class, sexuality, geography and more. Our events — ranging from social gatherings to insightful talks and panel dialogues — explore the intricacies of these issues while sparking conversations that matter.
Key Events
- International Women's Day
Each year, we hold our flagship event in March; a panel discussion and networking event centred around that year's IWD theme. We invite speakers from a wide variety of backgrounds to have a fruitful discussion and create an avenue to build a strong network of accomplished individuals. - Monthly Meetings
Social gatherings themed around gender equality issues. Examples are movie nights, craft sessions and workshops! - Collabs
Many of our monthly meetings are collaborations with other SMU clubs, in the past we've worked with SMU Literati, SMU Toastmasters & more. We've got more collabs in the works, so stay tuned!

Nope! SWC welcomes students of all genders who are passionate about gender equality. We believe everyone brings a unique perspective shaped by their identities and experiences, and this diversity enriches our conversations.
Absolutely not! Our events are designed to be educational, inclusive, and beginner-friendly, so no prior knowledge is needed. You're welcome to ask questions and explore at your own pace in a safe and open environment.
We host a range of events, including panel discussions and collaborations with other clubs. Events are typically held once a month, usually on Fridays, from 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM. Venue varies depending on the event.

- 2024 SICS Excellence Award
- Collaborated with Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO) to raise over 200 dollars in 2024
- ‘Excellence Club Award’ for Year 2020
This was awarded partly for operations, communication, and new initiatives by the club throughout the year. - Donation Drives
SWC has also carried out donation drives and raised funds through our events, working together closely with various organisations/beneficiaries who share the same mission as our club.
