OUR PEOPLE IN ACTION
DO I NEED TO AUDITION TO GET INTO THE CLUB?
No, but there will be a coffee chat for us to get to know you better!
"Conjunct has been an enriching experience that will always have a special place in my heart – journeying with partners who are deeply passionate about various social causes, teammates who not only challenge me to become better, but who also care for and nurture me in ways I will always be grateful for!"
– Seah Yi Shan, School of Business and School of Social Sciences, Year 4
"I stepped into SMU not knowing what CCA I wanted to join, but simply had a desire to try something new, and make a meaningful difference to the community. I found the perfect integration of the two passions in Conjunct Consulting. Having no prior experience in consulting was also not an issue, as there was a semester of excellent and rigorous training before we embarked on a project proper.
Looking back, I still marvel at how lucky I was to have joined Conjunct, to find like-minded friends who are as close as family, and to work on my own self development whilst also serving the community in a special way.”
- Lao Jing Hui, School of Social Sciences, Year 2
FAQ
We have a director of training who will be in charge of weekly trainings that equip trainees with relevant skills needed to be on a real-life consulting project. At times, we will have guest speakers conducting sessions for the trainees.
It really varies from semester to semester but don’t worry about it! It’s not meant to be a competition. We believe that even if you don’t become an AC, our training sessions would already equip you with skills to be a better social change leader and create bigger impact in the sector!
Nope! We are looking for people who have the passion to serve the non-profit sector and develop problem solving skills.
You will be working with your Project Leader, 2 external professionals as your Project Advisors and 4 of your fellow ACs. Each week, you will be assigned a workstream which will vary according to the needs of the project (eg. desk research and analysis, primary research, slide deck making, framework creation etc). Weekly meetings will be conducted for team discussion.
You definitely can indicate your interests and preferences, but eventually it depends on the projects that are available. It’ll be difficult to meet everyone’s preferences, but what we can almost guarantee is that whatever the type of project / client, you would have an awesome, well-balanced team to have fun with throughout the 10 weeks!
